PTA Meeting, Wed., May 8: Voting on the slate of officers for the 2013-14 school year. Pizza at 6:30pm; meeting at 7pm.
Teacher Appreciation Week: During the week of May 6th, HM parents and students will be showing their appreciation for the wonderful teachers and staff with a Dr. Seuss-themed celebration! Help needed for the potluck luncheon on Thurs., May 9; click here to sign up or visit the Volunteer page.

Welcome Letter from PTA President
To all of the Hollin Meadows families,
Welcome to the beginning of a new school year with so many new experiences and so much fun ahead. My name is Caroline Neulight and I am really looking forward to serving as your new PTA president. I have a sixth grader at Hollin Meadows as well as an eighth grader at Carl Sandburg Middle School. My family and I have been at this school since 2004 and we know just how priceless a Hollin Meadows education is.
You might ask why I volunteered to be the PTA president this year. My answer is that I know what happens when I participate. First, I get to know the teachers and staff that are involved in my child's life each day. I can see that our school administration has chosen the best of the best to challenge, encourage and guide my child to be his personal best. Secondly, my son likes to see me at his school. He likes for me to see what he’s involved in so that he can then tell me all about it later. We both enjoy this.
Over the years I've been involved in many events. I've had so much fun working with other parents to plan the Spring Dance. We used our own creative and organizational talents to put on a dance that I think I can say was a seriously good time for all who participated. We have so many opportunities like the dance that can strengthen your connection with your child while making new friends at the same time. What would be fun and interesting to you? Take a look and see what's available because it is true what they say that they're only young once.
So meet new folks, enhance your connection with your child and help make this school be the best that it can be. This is what the PTA is all about. If I see you in the hall please let me know who you are so that we can together enjoy the benefits of this truly unique school.
